The Quiet Perseverance of a Woman Terrified by Her Home Planet
A photos-series exploring the continual level of fear women face for simply existing. A cartoonish representation of ‘just getting on with it’ while it feels as if the world is in ruins. Two women are photographed in very normal, everyday settings (although slightly caricatured) with storybook inspired fears looming beyond. A meteor crashing down above a tea party, thorns growing around a sleeping beauty, a literal rain cloud above one’s head. These visuals, painted using acrylic, were layered onto the images in post production.
